Ignition Returns to the 2024 World Series of Poker Poker 26 June 2024 By Ignition StaffCrazy Sixes and Casino King Will Be Repping Ignition at the World’s Biggest Poker EventFor this World Series of Poker 2024 preview, we caught up with Ignition members Shaundle “Crazy Sixes” Pruitt and Matt “Casino King” Gothard. We chatted with them to find out what they’ve got in store for the crowd at the WSOP 2024 events.Let’s first recap what happened in their runs last year.Ignition at the 2023 WSOPIn WSOP 2023, our Ignition pros took on several events. Unfortunately for Sixes, his stabs at the big games didn’t really pay off. He managed to eke out a small profit playing the $1,500 Millionaire Maker, the $1,000 Tag Team, and the $1,000 MINI Main Event. As for Casino King, he bubbled in the MINI Main Event when his luck ran dry.It wasn’t all bad, though. The pair made the most of their time, playing a sizzling game of heads up in the desert, making side bets on the streets of Vegas, and putting random strangers to the test with some fun poker trivia. So, what are they planning to do differently this time around? What does Sixes have planned for his WSOP 2024 run?The big question for a lot of players is whether or not to take on the Main Event. But the analysis isn’t as simple as you might think. Not every pro wants to yolo $10K into a tourney that is so demanding. Each day is 12 hours (or more) of committed time, most of it playing poker. It grinds on for days and days, and that’s when things are going well! The hourly rate can be abysmal. Often, it’s a better bet to simply play a number of smaller tournies where the returns and expected value are higher. There’s also the question of “selling action.” This is where another individual pays a portion of your buy in to invest in your tourney run, receiving a portion of the profits. Using this method, players can reduce downside risk and make it easier to join in at expensive tournaments like the WSOP Main Event. So, for Sixes, it’s possible we’ll see him in the Main, but he’s still undecided. At the time of writing, his plans (subject to change and results in various games) are to play in:Event #62, a $600 buy in Deepstack tourneySatellites to the Main EventOnline event #13, a freezeout game with a $1,000 buy in (he’s cashed in this one several times).Event #64, another $600 Deepstack game.Event #67, the Salute to Warriors tournament.Event #70, the COLOSSUS (where each starting “flight” plays into the money independently).Event #75, a tag team tournament where Sixes can collab with his buddy GodsBigToe, to see if they can beat their 26th place finish. If you’re not familiar with this tourney, players can switch out between hands. The game is played “Iron Man” style with no breaks from start to finish. That’s a LOT of poker. But it’s nothing for a Team Ignition pro. Good luck to Mr. Pruitt! How is Casino King taking on the WSOP this year?Matt will be in Vegas around June 28th and expects to kick things off with the $400 buy in COLUSSUS event with Sixes. After that, he’ll be in the Tag Team tourney with a friend from Minnesota who’s been riding with him since the beginning of his online influencer career. After that, it’s on to the $1,000 MINI Main Event for some serious Hold’EmThe most fun part of the trip could be the $5K to $10K challenge he’s come up with for himself. He’s going to try to take $5K and gamble his way into a full $10K WSOP Main Event buy in. He told us to expect some high-limit blackjack, as well as some possible time at the baccarat, craps, and roulette tables. As always, we wish him luck.Is he in shape to kill the card tables? Well, his playing time has been cut down since the birth of a baby girl earlier this year, but sometimes a relaxed player who has had time away from the tables is refreshed and ready. Of course, having a baby in the house also negates that possibility as well. Daddy is going to have to do his best.WSOP 2024 – what else?WSOP is the biggest poker event in the world for good reason; there’s never a shortage of entertainment, with all kinds of personalities and levels of skill converging in one place at one time.YOUR OWN BIG TOURNAMENTS – 24/7 PLAY AT IGNITION SHARE Related Articles Poker 01 August 20242024 WSOP Wrap-UpWe Recap the Main Event Winner and Catch Up with Crazy Sixes and Casino King to See How They Did The 2024 WSOP is in the books (don’t worry, you can still...
