Poker-Inspired Card Games You Can Play

If poker is the king of card games, these are the princes (and princesses). Let’s check out some poker-inspired playing card games.

Caribbean Hold’em

First on our list is Caribbean Hold’em. Here’s you get a lot of fast Texas Hold’Em action without having to wait around for friends to make decisions. Ante up, and you and the dealer will both be dealt two cards, just like in normal Hold’Em. The dealer’s are not shown. Then, a community flop of three cards will come out and you can decide to fold or play and double your bet.

After that, the turn and river cards are dealt. If your five-card hand beats the dealer’s, your ante is paid 1:1. Your raise is also paid 1:1 if the dealer has a pair of fours or better and is considered to have “qualified” into the hand. There’s also a progressive jackpot side bet you can make that pays big when you land a big hand.

Let ‘Em Ride

In Let ‘Em Ride, you ante your wager and three cards are dealt to you. If things don’t look promising, you can check. If you’ve got a pair or better, though, you can bet your ante again and “raise.” There are two cards left to turn over in your “hand.” One will be flipped, and you will have a last chance to check or raise again. If you wind up with a pair of tens or better, you get paid 1:1. Rev up and roll out!

Tri Card Poker

Online card games can be very simple and relaxing. Tri Card is über easy to understand. Ante up, and you and the dealer will both be dealt 3 cards. You can then check or bet your ante again based on how strong they look. After that, you both turn over your cards. Whoever has the best poker hand wins. If the dealer has a queen or higher, your winning hand is paid 1:1. Keep in mind that straights and flushes can be made with 3 cards in this online table game.

Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker cuts right to the chase. You and the dealer get dealt five cards (with one showing on the dealer side). You then decide to place double your ante as a raise or you can also fold. Whoever has the best five card hand at the showdown wins, unless the dealer didn’t qualify. If you’re new to this game, remember that the dealer only plays on ace/king or better.

Pai Gow Poker

Social online multiplayer card games have nothing on the excitement of Pai Gow Poker! Both you and the dealer will each be dealt seven cards. You’ll then need to split your cards into a 5-card hand and a two-card hand. If both of your hands beat the dealer’s, you get paid. There’s some strategizing to be done, so don’t be too quick to simply make your best five-card hand and ignore your 2-card hand. It could be the one that makes you money!

Other Casino Card Games You Can Play

Online multiplayer card games are fun when you’re in the mood to be social and outsmart your friends, but there are other playing card games that let you get away from poker for a while.

Blackjack

Blackjack is a classic game that never really gets old, and with a tiny house edge, your strategy can really help you get paid. You get two cards and can decide whether to a) stand or b) take a hit and get dealt another card. The goal is to get as close to 21 as you can without going over. Don’t bust out!

Vegas Three Card Rummy

We’re definitely not in poker land anymore. Instead of trying to make a poker hand with your three cards, you now want to get the lowest score you can. Single aces count as 1 point, cards from 2 to 10 count according to their pip value, and face cards are 10 points. If you think you can score lower than the dealer, press on and raise for a showdown and hopefully a nice little payday.

Andar Bahar

Just one last game before we go, friends. This is one of those online card games that came out of nowhere and took the western world by storm – but it isn’t new! They’ve been playing it for centuries in India. One card goes face up in the middle of the felt. Cards will then be dealt onto two sides of it. Before dealing, you need to bet on which side will get dealt a card to match the middle one. There’s also a bunch of side bets you can make, but we’ll leave those as a surprise to you.

Enough talk – pick your game and go blow it up!
