Poker Tournament Fashion – Most Stylish and Outrageous WSOP Outfits Poker 27 June 2025 By Ignition StaffThe WSOP is one of the top poker tournaments in the world – if not the top tournament. For that reason, players should be dressed to impress. There’s only one problem: the events go on for days and days, and the costumes aren’t comfortable. That’s why jeans and a hoodie have become the unofficial uniform when it comes to WSOP poker tournament fashion. But not everyone gives in to comfort. Some folks still want to turn heads. Hey, even high-end fashion brands are now designing performance-driven poker tournament attire—blending standout style with comfort at the WSOP and beyond.Ready for a style showdown? Scroll down to see the most outrageous poker outfits ever dealt into a tournament.Phil Hellmuth’s Cavalcade of CostumesPhil Hellmuth is always one of the most memorable dressers at WSOP tournaments—if you’re into outrageous entrances and headline-grabbing costumes. Over the years, he’s shown up as a Roman gladiator, a giant baby, a championship boxer, and other attention-grabbing characters. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Hellmuth thrives on theatrics and always makes sure all eyes are on him. His outfits are often decked out with logos from brands he’s partnered with—or even his own clothing line, making his fashion statements both personal and promotional.Captain Jack Sparrow Sails the FeltMost likely, Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean is a loose aggressive player. He’s a wild card. You never know when he’s telling the truth, what he’s going to do, or whether he’s sober. One would hope that this player brought a fun, freewheeling vibe to the table. Do you think he stayed in character at all? It could be amazing or very irritating, both of which could work to his advantage in hands.Kenna James’s Cowboy GetupKenna James often shows up to poker tournaments in a cowboy hat and button-down shirt. He brings in the imagery of the West, which is really inseparable from the culture of poker. One can’t know all there is to know about playing cards if you’ve never imagined yourself at a table in a dusty saloon – one where half the other players have revolvers at the ready and warm whiskey in front of them. Kenna James takes folks back to the roots of American poker. They weren’t playing No Limit Hold’em then, though…Phil Laak’s Unabomber DisguiseBack in the late aughts, a person wearing a dark hoodie and glasses reminded everyone of a shadowy figure that had haunted the imagination of a nation: the Unabomber. The FBI’s sketch artist image that went on the Most Wanted List was forever etched into people’s minds. When Phil Laak showed up to the WSOP in a similar mode, he earned a nickname that would last forever. He won millions throughout his career, and some of it had to be attributable to his spooky table image.Vanessa Rousso the RoachVanessa “Lady Maverick” Rousso keeps things fun and showed up to a WSOP event in a cockroach costume. Sadly, she was exterminated when her set-mining pocket 2s turned into a full house, which then lost on the turn to a better full house. Not even a roach can survive a cooler like that.Allen Kessler’s Graphic T-ShirtsAllen Kessler almost always has something special on his shirt at WSOP events. Like “It’s Not Personal, It’s Strictly Business,” “Ship It,” or just his nickname, “The Chainsaw.” While not exactly a crazy costume, it’s generally good for a chuckle. Anything that breaks up the monotony of the long grind of WSOP events is a positive thing, right?Ron Burgundy Is All In?The classic comedy Anchorman was one of the most quoted movies not just in 2004, but for years after. To this day, when anyone shows up in that dark red suit and moustache, it instantly improves the mood for anyone around. This player hopefully went all in on the character by smoking and drinking scotch throughout play, but fans can forgive him if he couldn’t rival the awesome majesty that was Ron Burgundy in his prime. Hopefully, people are still putting random question marks on teleprompter scripts in his honor to this day.Artie Cobb Serves Up Some FriesA hat full of fries. There’s not much to say about that. It’s even more ridiculous when you learn that the old guy wearing it (poker veteran Artie Cobb) has 4 WSOP bracelets. You’d be challenged to take him seriously, but you still have to bring your absolute best game. A little silliness is probably just what he needs to disarm opponents and take their whole stacks.Tom Dwan’s HeadwearAnother hat wearer! Tom Dwan is always a threat to go all in and to wear something unusual on his head. This is a player who needed no extra help projecting a wild table image, but he went for it anyway.Keep an eye out for wildest poker tournament fashion coming out of the WSOP this year.
